The Gaming and Wagering Commission (GWC or Commission) is a statutory authority responsible for ensuring the integrity and fairness of gaming and wagering in Western Australia.
We regulate gambling activities through independent, contemporary regulatory practices that protect and educate consumers, consider community benefit, and minimise gambling‑related harm.

TABtouch and PlayWest are licensed by the Commission to operate in Western Australia.
If you have information about an online gambling operator that is not licensed in Western Australia, contact the relevant state or territory regulator (search the register here to find out the best contact).
Online gambling operators must also comply with the Interactive Gambling Act 2001 (Cth). This legislation governs the provision and advertising of gambling services and is regulated by the Australian Communications and Media Authority (ACMA).
The Commission comprises a Chairperson and between five and seven members appointed by the Minister for Racing and Gaming. Appointments are up to five years for the Chairperson and up to three years for Members; both of which are eligible for reappointments.

The WA Government has expanded the capacity and capability of the Gaming and Wagering Commission of Western Australia (GWC) to support its role as a regulator of the State's gaming and wagering industry.

The State Government has announced Dr Michael Schaper as the new independent Chair of the Gaming and Wagering Commission (GWC) — an appointment in response to the Perth Casino Royal Commission (PCRC).
Racing and Gaming Minister Dr Tony Buti has appointed 2 new members to the Gaming and Wagering Commission (GWC), bringing the total number of appointees this year to 4.
The Commission uses guidance documents to explain how it interprets and applies gambling laws, standards and regulatory expectations.
These documents promote consistent industry practices, support compliance, and help minimise gambling‑related harm to consumers and the community.
