Recognition for State Representatives

The Department of Local Government, Sport and Cultural Industries is proud to support Western Australia’s elite athletes.

Athletes representing WA for the first time are now being offered a signed certificate from the Minister for Sport and Recreation and a State pin to commemorate their achievement. 

State sporting associations can request the certificates and pins by providing a list of first-time representatives to the department. 

Eligibility requirements

  • If the athlete has never represented WA in that sport previously, they are eligible.
  • If they have represented WA in that sport previously, they are not eligible (even if it is a new competition they haven’t entered before).
  • If it is a different sport in which they are representing WA for the first time, they are eligible.
