Reconciliation Week is celebrated annually from 27 May to 3 June and recognises the importance of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander histories, cultures and achievements. The Street Banner Project displays hundreds of banners, sponsored by organisations, in prominent locations across Western Australia.

Once again, DLGSC is excited to partner with Reconciliation WA to deliver the project with the support of a growing number of organisations and local governments. This positive contribution towards reconciliation provides your organisation or business the opportunity to acknowledge the significant place of Aboriginal people and culture within our community.

2024 artist

Renita Brown Nungurrayi paints Mina Mina, a significant women’s Dreaming site, as passed down to her by her mother, Flora Brown Nakamarra who received it from her mother, and so on. Renita lives between Papunya in the Northern Territory with her father’s Luritja family and her Warlpiri mother, at Balgo in Western Australia where she visits her mother’s extended family for long stays and paints at Warlayirti Artists. The Mina Mina story Renita paints belongs to the Warlpiri side.
